Taco Soup

(This is very yummy and came from Aunt Midge. It's very quick and easy.)
Serves: 6


1 lb. hamburger
1 onion, chopped
1 (4 oz.) can green chilies
 salt to taste
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 package (1 1/2 tsp.) taco seasoning
1 package (6 tsp. or 1 oz. pkg.) ranch style dressing
1 can hominy or corn, undrained (I use 1 c. frozen corn)
1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans, drained
1 (15 oz.) can pinto beans, drained
1 1/2 c. water  (I use 1 can beef broth or stock - you can add a little water, if desired, to make it more soupy)

Brown beef with onion and chilies. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to boil and simmer 30 minutes on low.
