1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. Vanilla
2 cups flour (try substituting some of the flour with wheat flour)
1 tsp. Soda
½ tsp. Baking powder
½ tsp. Salt
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup nuts, chocolate chips, raisins (opt.), or dates
2 cups rice krispies
½ - 1 cup coconut
Mix shortening, sugars, vanilla, eggs together. Mix together flour, soda, baking powder,and salt and add to the creamed mixture. Add the remaining ingredients. Flatten with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 – 10 minutes. Do not overbake.
