Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies

This is a Paula Deen.  Make sure not to overbake or they lose their goeyness.
I found that the Duncan Hines cakemix makes a flatter cookie and the Pillbury makes a more mounded cookie.
Makes approximately 2 dozen larger cookies.

1 tsp. vanilla
1 (18 oz.) box chocolate cake mix
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, room temperature
1 egg
1stick butter, room temperature

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  In a large mixing bowl, cream the cream cheese and butter until smooth.  Beat in the egg and vanilla.  Beat in the cake mix.  If needed, refrigerate till it can be rolled into small balls.  Roll balls in powdered sugar and make sure to get lots of the sugar on them.  Place on a cookie sheet with parchment paper and bake for 9 min. for smaller cookies (2nd smallest scooper).  Cool completely and sprinkle with more powdered sugar if desired.
