Spiced Pecans

This is good for Christmas. I got it in Boston when Dad was in school.


1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon (rounded)
6 Tblsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. pecan halves

Combine sugar, salt, cinnamon, and milk, and cook to softball stage, (236 degrees) stirring frequently. (This doesn't take long at all - 5 minutes at best). Remove from heat, add vanilla and pecans. Stir until mixture begins to grain. Place nuts separately on waxed paper.
Freezes well.
