These are grandmas and they’re addictive
½ cup shortening
1 ½ cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 ¾ cup flour
½ tsp. Soda
½ tsp. Salt
½ tsp. Baking powder
2/3 cup chopped nuts
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in the sour cream and vanilla. In a separate bowl mix together the flour, soda, salt, and baking powder. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Add the nuts. Chill dough at least 1 hour. Drop by teaspoons about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 400 degrees 8 – 10 minutes. Cool slightly and then frost.
Icing:
Melt 1 cube butter until golden brown or caramel brown. Blend in:
2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 – 3 Tbls. Hot water
