Perfect Apple Pie
4 cups diced apples (8) or 3 cans
compstock apples, drained (this is what I use
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup brown sugar – packed
dash of salt
1 ½ tsp. Cinnamon
¼ tsp. Nutmeg
3 Tbls. Flour or cornstarch
butter
Mix the dry ingredients together and add to the apples. Mix and pour into an unbaked pie shell. Dot with lots of butter and add the top crust. Make slits in top and brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes. Check to make sure the outer crust doesn’t burn. You can put foil around the edges.
