Cookies:
3 cups flour
2 tsp. Baking powder
½ tsp. Each baking soda,
salt
¾ cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
½ cup sour cream
1 Tbls. Grated orange zest
1 cup chopped pecans
Frosting:
2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
2 tsp. Grated orange zest
1/8 tsp. Salt
3 Tbls. Fresh orange juice
Pecan halves, for garnish
Heat oven to 375 degrees. For cookies, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into large mixing bowl.
Cream together butter and sugars in bowl of electric mixer. Add eggs, one at a time, sour cream, orange zest and chopped nuts; mix together. Stir into flour mixture until smooth.
Drop dough by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheets; bake 10 – 14 minutes, or until golden.
For frosting, stir together powdered sugar, orange zest, salt and orange juice to taste. Spread frosting on warm, not hot, cookies. Top each cookie with a pecan half while icing is still soft.
