Creamy Ham & Cauliflower Casserole

This was one of the first recipes I ever got from someone. We got it when we lived in Boston. I don’t like caulifower much, but you can’t even tell this has it in it.

Serves: 6-8

1 large head cauliflower (or 1 pkg.
Frozen)
2 cup cooked ham, diced
1 (13 oz.) Can drained mushrooms, drained
4 Tbls. Butter
1 pkg. (3 Tbls) dry onions
1 cup milk
1 cup grated cheese
½ cup sour cream
1 cup soft bread crumbs
1 Tbls. Butter
1/3 cup flour

Cook cauliflower till tender. Drain thoroughly and add cut up ham and mushrooms. In saucepan, Mmelt 4 Tbls. Butter and brown the onion. Stir in flour and milk. Cook and stir until mixture thickens. Add cheese and sour cream to sauce. Stir until cheese melts. Combine it with cauliflower and ham and put into greased (?) 9 x 13 pan or large casserole dish. Put bread crumbs on top and drizzle remaining butter on top. Cook uncovered 45 minutes at 350 degrees
